Nimertines

As one of the lesser-known offshoots of humanity, Nimertines are quite beautiful yet problematic. Having branched off from humanity in the Dark Ages, Nimertines adapted to the plague by mating with another extinct species known as Missians. The missions were a species that ate decaying meat but primarily the entrails of human beings. They were a peaceful species that only went after human already dead or just plain evil humans who deserved what they got. You could say the Missians were the divine justice during a period of humanity when we were vulnerable. Unfortunately, the Gargoyles saw what was happening and sought an alliance with the Missians. Treachery was afoot, when the Gargoyles at the treaty signing turned on the Nimertines and slaughtered them.

The few remaining Nimertines took to hiding amongst humans. They adapted to living with humans and evolved into the Nimertines who lost track of the proud history they had and became scavengers. It is difficult to see that a once proud civilization co-existing with humanity evolved into a civilization with serious compulsion and greed problems. Unable to compensate for Missian gene pool, the complex individuals that they were, Nimertines evolved into two beings, twins that compliment each other. As such, one is a truth teller and the other is a liar to the core. Remembering which one is which is difficult so keep your wits about you and do not let frustration get to you. The deformity they have that separates them from humanity is the second mouth they have on their throat. So, be warned of twins who wear chokers. It is too bad Brittany Spears is as powerful as she is. She is not one, but part of a set of twins. You really thought she dating the guy from N'Sync, let us just say that she is not the truth-teller.
